Very likely this was his last professional match. In a Davis Cup tie against Dutchman Botice van den Zandschulp he enjoyed it in front of his home crowd in Malaga. And apart from the result, it was a fine adieu; full house, wonderful atmosphere. This is how a legend should say goodbye. Rafael Nadal undoubtedly is. That's not the only reason I've loved photographing him over the years.

And Karolina Muchova's journey to the semi-finals (and especially her amazing tennis!) captivated not only Mats Wilander and the fans in the Czech Republic. It's a pity, that Karolina didn't make it through the last two steps...

Wimbledon was plagued by rain this year, but the end of the tournament was brightened (especially for Czech fans) by the winning finals of Barbora Krejcikova and Katerina Siniakova. And everyone must have been thrilled by the final battle between Carlos Alzcaraz and 24-time Grand Slam champion Novak Djokovic. Glory to the winners!

Rainy and sad. Tennis Paris seemed to symbolize the passing of a legend in the first week. Rafael Nadal, the 14-time champion of Roland Garros,will not add another title at this famous tournament; he bid an emotional farewell to the fans after losing to Zverev.

The clay court season begins! Unexpectedly in Madrid, at least as far as the weather is concerned; it was cold, but fortunately sunny. The tennis made up for everything, though. A great tournament was played; fantastic tennis and perfect service. Hopefully my photos will give you a hint...

I don't shoot football every day, but when I do, it's worth it! The Europa League match Sparta Prague vs. Galatasaray Istanbul lacked none of that a fan wants to see. It had a huge backdrop, a great second half and it was topped off by the Prague players' frenetic celebrations – that's what you want to be there for (and especially as a Prague resident)!
